Dear members & friends of Trinity Lutheran Church, March 17, 2020
Our community, country and world is facing some difficult health challenges. While here in Montana, the risk may seem low to us personally, we have to think about working together for the sake of others. Our Board of Lay Ministry and Board of Directors have been struggling with this issue with differing opinions, but in the end the decision was made by the BOD that we will operate NOT out of FEAR, but out of LOVE for our neighbors and for those who are most at risk and that we will respect or the CDC guidelines in stopping the virus. Therefore, we are suspending all large-group church activities including worship, until further notice. (Smaller groups may still meet.) Just because we will not be gathering at Trinity though, doesn’t mean that “Church is cancelled.” We are temporarily moving “the church” to our homes. Home churches are even mentioned in the Bible (1 Corinthians 16:19; Colossians 4:15; Philemon 2) I will continue to have a sermon to share with you every Sunday that will be available online at www.TrinityKalispell.org or you may pick up DVDs from church. At that website, you will also be able to read our weekly announcements as well as prayer requests so that you can stay informed and be in prayer for our church family and friends. You will also be able to continue to support your church through our website or by mailing in your offerings. Our ministry expenses are not taking a break during this suspension of public activity. If you do not already receive our prayer requests each week via email, you may sign up for that, as that is going to be the best way for us to communicate for a while. Please be aware of those in your circle of friendships and family members who may not have access to internet or email and call them with updates and worship with them by bringing your phone, laptop or other device to watch with them. Feel free to reach out for support. If you need prayer, communion, words of encouragement, etc. please reach out. Isolation can have an unforeseen impact on us. I am here for you! Your elders, Stephen Ministers, & everyone else in our church is here for you as well. Even if your biggest need is toilet paper, our camp has a large supply and it is available for those in need. Our church office will remain open in case you need to contact us regarding any assistance or questions you have. You can also contact me at 309-613-4884 as I will be at camp overseeing the clean-up and repair from last Friday’s windstorm. God has helped His Church through similar challenges in the past and He will certainly help us through all of this as well! Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” May the peace of Christ be with you! Pastor Kevin Bueltmann |
Dear members and friends of Trinity Lutheran Church,
Friday March 20, 2020 These are challenging times, but God is still here for us. Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. We are working together with our neighbors here and around the world. Philippians 2 - Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. As you already know our on-site ministry is suspended for a while, perhaps up to 8 weeks, but we do this out of LOVE and NOT FEAR. II Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Sunday Worship in our Homes Our congregational worship video will be available online at www.TrinityKalispell.org after 8am on Sunday. We will also have DVDs of our worship service & paper copies of our News & Announcements & Prayers available OUTSIDE of both main entrances to our sanctuary for you to share with those who can't watch online. News & Prayers You will find those online at: News & Announcements - https://www.trinitykalispell.org/news.html Prayer Requests & Praises - https://www.trinitykalispell.org/prayer.html Tithes & Offerings to God Be sure to continue to support your church through our website or by mailing in your offerings or dropping them off in person as you are able. Our ministry expenses are not taking a break during this time. Some of you may not be able to give, because your work hours have ceased and we are in prayer for you. You should also know that our ministry has MANY Child Care workers and teacher aides, etc. who normally get paid by the hour and we want to be able to support them somehow financially as best as we can, so if you are able to INCREASE your giving for a few weeks or so, that would surely be a blessing to many who are part of our Trinity family. You can give online at the bottom of this link: https://www.trinitykalispell.org/giving.html Designate Your Thrivent Choice Dollars by March 31st Those of you who are Thrivent members are reminded to designate your Choice Dollars by March 31 to an organization of their choosing, such as our church, school, camp, or child care ministry. See the attached document on how to do this online or by phone. Trinity Lutheran Ministry App - PRE-Launch Finally, our ministry app is not complete (especially the school, camp, & child care side of the app), but you are encouraged to download it to your phone so we can navigate the next 8 weeks together through this amazing tool. Be sure to "allow" notifications when the app asks. We promise they will be few, but important. Here are the links to download the app: Currently the app looks like it's for the school, but that will be corrected eventually. iTunes App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1494966476 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.subsplashconsulting.s_7MVDRJ Amazon Appstore: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085MJJBVR "See" you all on Sunday at or after 8am! https://www.trinitykalispell.org/ Pastor Kevin Bueltmann 406-333-1555 |
