Good Friday is a major fes val of the church year during which the church remembers the crucifixion of Jesus. Good Friday is the most solemn day of the church year because the Man who was innocent of sin had to suffer for all the sins of the world. The altar cloth and parament remain black for Good Friday. The liturgical color, black, symbolizes mourning, humility and death.
